My Job Is...
to help you make sense of your student data. I will review the data that you receive from DIBELS and benchmarking with you and help you disaggregate the data and apply the information into deeper instruction. I will be using data to interpret trends, identify learning targets, and identify specific instructional needs that lead to helping you and the principal design the next steps for instruction. I will be meeting with individual teachers, small groups of content or grade level teams in PLC's focused on meeting the needs of the buildings WISE plan and TPS's strategic goals. My role in the WISE plan is to meet the areas of need and focus that are indicated.
In the classroom I will use a variety of ways and multiple strategies to enhance teacher effectiveness in the classroom. I will work with individual teachers to help them improve their practice, modeling instructional strategies, observing teachers, co-teaching, co-planning lessons and units, and providing feedback
In the building I will work with groups of teachers (e.g., grade leveled teams, content-area specialists) to model instructional approaches, encourage reflection, conduct study groups (professional learning communities), present new instructional or curricular materials, and analyze student work.
While I am a part of the leadership team, I am not here to change the way you do business. My job is to enhance and bring to the table new ideas and strategies that enhance what you are already doing.

My Job Isn't...
I am not your evaluator and what I do in the classroom is not connected to the Teacher Evaluation Instrument (TEI). I am a coach/consultant working with teachers to help them with their own self-improvement plans. Conferences and walk-throughs are directed at strenthening the instructional competence of teachers, at professional growth, and at empowerment.
I am not the person who pulls students for tutoring, however I will assist you in the classroom with coteaching and modeling best practices like differentiated instruction and cooperative learning. I am not the lunch or playground monitor, however I will be in the lunchroom and on the playground talking and interacting with students and teachers. I am not the substitute teacher; however I will assist a substitute so that students learning needs are met during a teacher's absence.
I am not the DIBELS trainer or collector of data, I am not the EduSoft trainer or collector of data, I am not the writer or the implementer of the WISE plan. My job is to help you disaggregate and make sense of the data and maintain the goals of the buildings WISE plan.
